TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- We're learning new details about the murder of Tiffany Nance, 33, and the arrest of the suspect in the case, Bryon Massey, 38.

Nance's body was found in the Ochlockonee River Wildlife Management Area in Leon County on the morning of January 29.

The probable cause affidavit says the body was found approximately 1.5 miles form the Highway 90 West entrance, in a heavily wooded area with no nearby housing developments.

The report reveals that Nance was stabbed multiple times and also had what appeared to be defensive wounds on her arms.

The affidavit states that DNA evidence collected at the scene was uploaded into a database and came back to Bryon Massey.

A GPS ankle monitor that Massey was wearing also placed him in the area where Tiffany's body was found on January 28th.

Massey was already being held without bond in the Leon County Jail on unrelated charges when he was arrested for Nance's murder.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The sound of the North Ochlocknee Tract are peaceful, and now eerie, after the body of a 33-year-old Tallahassee woman is found three months ago.

"It's not an uncommon place for somebody to ditch a body because they weren't likely to been seen with it out here," says Ivan Barineau, Tallahassee native.

This week, police say a man is behind bars.

38-year-old Bryon Massey is being charged with the murder of Tiffany Nance.

"We need to be aware because things that are not supposed to be going on, can be going on," says Barineau.

Neighbors nearby say people come out here to hunt, walk nature trails, and relax with family and friends.

They never imagined something like this happening.

"It's very strange," says Mike Duncan, a neighbor. "It's usually a very quiet neighborhood out here. Not much traffic. Just a few people going in and out of the park and the regular neighbors."

Duncan has lived just yards away from the park entrance for over a decade.

He says people come out here for the peace and quiet.

"Very few things like this happen, thank god," says Duncan. "I don't like to see things like that happen."

Neighbors and people in the community are now moving forward.

"Hopefully, it doesn't happen out here for a long, long time," adds Duncan.

They say the Ochlocknee trails are forever changed.

Massey was already being held without bond in the Leon County Jail for a warrant out of Bay County for grand theft.

Court documents show Massey has an extensive criminal history dating back to 1997.
