Funeral arrangements set for longtime FAMU professor

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Funeral arrangements have been made for longtime Florida A&M University Professor Clyde Ashley, Ph.D.

Ashley passed away suddenly on May 2. FAMU says Ashley was found in his School of Business and Industry office. He had been employed by the university since 1987.

A funeral will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, at Watson Temple COGIC at 665 West Brevard Street in Tallahassee. Ashley will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church.

There will be a tribute of life ceremony from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 11 at FAMU's SBI Building.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Florida A&M University has announced Professor Clyde Ashley, Ph.D, passed away on Wednesday.

FAMU says Ashley died on campus in his School of Business and Industry office on Wednesday afternoon. He had been employed by the university since 1987.

“We extend sincere condolences to his family and will keep them in our prayers,” said FAMU President Larry Robinson, Ph.D.

The university said grief counselors will be made available to students.
