LOWNDES CO., Ga. (WCTV) -- The Georgia State Patrol says a Lake Park woman has died after a crash in Lowndes County on Tuesday evening.
The crash happened at 5:29 p.m. on Georgia State Route 31 near Olympia Road.
Troopers say a Chevrolet Impala was traveling northbound as a Nissan Frontier pickup truck was traveling southbound. As the vehicles were approaching a curve, the Impala traveled into the southbound lane and collided with the pickup truck head-on.
The driver of the Impala, Eloise Perry Roberts, of Lake Park, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup, Morgan E. Harlan, of Pinetta, Florida, was taken to South Georgia Medical Center in critical condition. His family says he suffered a broken ankle and a collapsed lung.
GSP says both drivers were wearing seatbelts and airbags were deployed. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
