MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) -- The man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a little boy from Madison in 2016 is pleading not guilty to the charges.

Jason Lenard Hayling, 44, was arraigned in Madison County court on Thursday morning.

Hayling is accused of abducting a 7-year-old boy as he played outside his home at a trailer park in Madison on April 17, 2016.

The little boy was found the next day wandering through a neighborhood in Jacksonville.

The case went unsolved for two years, until investigators used DNA to connect Hayling to the crime after he was arrested for another child sexual assault in Duval County.

Hayling is charged with kidnapping and sexual battery of a child. He was ordered to be held without bond.

Hayling's pretrial hearing is set for June 14th.
