Man accused of biting another's ear off during argument over beer

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A south Florida man is accused of biting part of a Tallahassee man's ear off during an argument over a case of beer, according to Tallahassee police.
According to TPD, officers responded to the 1600 block of Airport Drive on April 1 following the report of an aggravated battery and found the victim holding a paper towel to his right hear. He told them that his ear had been bitten off and he was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
The victim later told police he got into an argument with David Peters, 22, after Peters dropped a case of beer as the two men and others were returning from a party. He said Peters attacked him and bit his ear off during an altercation.
Witnesses told police the victim had Peters in a headlock prior to having his ear bitten off and that Peters said "what else did you expect me to do?" after the incident.
Peters, a resident of Plantation, Florida, was booked into the Leon County Jail Monday. He was released on $5,000 bond Tuesday.
Police say the victim's ear could not be reattached.
