WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man on multiple charges after serving a search warrant at a home in Crawfordville.
Detectives served the warrant Tuesday on Basswood Drive after receiving a tip that the man living at the home, Christopher Earnest, sold drugs in front of the children he was supposed to be caring for.
During the search of the bedroom, detectives found suspected marijuana prepackaged for sale and suspected cocaine on top of a digital scale. Detectives also found three firearms, cash and a ledger that appeared to be keeping track of firearm and drug transactions.
Detectives found another firearm in a closet surrounded by children’s clothing and toys. WCSO says the firearm was unsecured and loaded within direct reach of any child who may have entered the room.
Detectives searched a shed in the front yard and found more suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A firearm and an envelope of cash was also found in a vehicle that was parked next to the home.
Following an investigation, Earnest was brought in for questioning and arrested.
WCSO says, during the entirety of the search, detectives seized a total of 84 grams of suspected marijuana, one gram of suspected cocaine, $1,730 in cash and 17 firearms.
Earnest was charged with child endangerment, engaging in criminal activity with a weapon present, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell, narcotics equipment possession and public order crimes. Earnest was booked into the Wakulla County Jail.
