Man charged with child molestation, statutory rape

THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) -- The Thomas County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man on charges of child molestation and statutory rape.

The suspect, Desmond Jones, was taken into custody on Friday.

The incident allegedly occurred last Friday and was reported to law enforcement over the weekend. A forensic interview and sexual assault exam was then conducted.

Deputies say Jones was brought in for questioning and admitted to the allegations made by the victim.

The sheriff's office says they are currently looking for another individual with outstanding warrants in this case.
