Man charged with murder after admitting to killing Leon County woman

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A man is behind bars in Leon County, accused of stabbing a woman to death in her home.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office says on Friday night, it was contacted by the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office to conduct a welfare check on 51-year-old Georgette Crawford.

According to authorities, 53-year-old Anthony Nealy had shown up to a family member's home in Gadsden County with blood on his clothes, saying he had killed Crawford.

Deputies found Crawford in her home in the 500 block of Osceola Street, dead from stab wounds.

Nealy was arrested and booked into the Leon County Detention Facility. He has been charged with first degree homicide.
