BROOKS COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) -- The Georgia State Patrol has reported a fatal crash on GA 122 on Wednesday morning.
According to GSP, a Cadillac CTS was being driven by 27-year-old Jonathan Garcia, traveling west on GA 122.
Troopers say a Peterbilt tractor trailer was traveling east as Garcia began to merge into the eastbound lane, striking the tractor trailer in the front bumper with his front bumper.
GSP says after the collision, Garcia's vehicle came to an uncontrolled final rest on the north shoulder of the road.
Officials say Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say the driver of the tractor trailer sustained an arm injury.
Investigating troopers are unsure if drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the crash, and the investigation is pending toxicology results.
