MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A Jacksonville man was killed Sunday afternoon when he swerved to avoid debris in the roadway, causing his car to overturn.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 3 p.m. on Interstate 10 west near mile marker 268 in Madison County.
The crash report states that 75-year-old Pete Weilersbeacher was driving west on I-10 when he swerved suddenly to avoid some debris in the road. Weilersbeacher's car traveled onto the shoulder and began to overturn, coming to final rest on its roof.
Weilersbeacher was pronounced dead by Madison County EMS.
