Marianna Police arrest suspect involved in armed robbery at food mart

MARIANNA, Fla. (WCTV) — The Marianna Police Department says they have arrested the suspect wanted in a Saturday robbery at a Chevron Food Mart.

Authorities say on Monday, MPD obtained leads that led to the naming of a suspect, Emerald Meredith.

Officials say investigators were able to determine a location for Meridith and after being questioned, she committed to the robbery.

MPD says Meridith was arrested on Monday night and has been taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility on charges of robbery with a weapon, grand theft and petit theft.

MARIANNA, Fla. (WCTV) — The Marianna Police Department said it is investigating a Saturday robbery at a Chevron Food Mart.

According to police, a woman, while covering her face, walked into the Chevron at 2999 Jefferson Street armed with a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

The robber got away with an unknown amount of money, police said.
