TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Family, friends and community supporters gathered at Chuy’s in Tallahassee Tuesday afternoon for a good luck send-off for Miss Tallahassee, Leila Sabet.
At the end of the month, Leila is heading to Lakeland to compete for the Miss Florida title. Leila told Eyewitness News she is nervous, but grateful for the opportunity and the support from so many people around her.
"When I was here tonight, and seeing all those faces, so many different people from the community, from FSU and from a law firm that was a big sponsor for the pageant, Benjamin Crump, and just from so many different places. It really does mean so much to have that support. It gives me that confidence that I need to get on that stage and show why I should be the next Miss Florida," Sabet said.
Leila’s director, Dr. Denise Barrett, said that Leila is the first Miss Tallahassee to compete for the title of Miss Florida in four years.
