TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Nearly 100 seniors evacuating an assisted living facility in Naples arrived in Tallahassee in the wee hours of Thursday morning to wait out Hurricane Irma.
The seniors left aboard three charter buses Wednesday at noon and arrived at Tallahassee's Tapestry Senior Living nearly 14 hours later, according to Tapestry's marketing director McKenzie Biehl.
Biehl says about 90 seniors and 30 staff evacuated from a continuing care retirement community in Naples called Vi of Bentley Villages.
Biehl says the oldest senior to make the trip is 99 years old.
