New trial date set for murder suspect Denise Williams
October 2, 2018
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A new trial date has been set for Denise Williams, accused in the murder of her husband Michael Williams back in December 2000.
In a court hearing on Tuesday, the judge set the trial for December 10.
Williams had been set to stand trial on September 24, but the judge granted a request from Williams' attorney to delay the trial.
Mike Williams disappeared during a duck hunting trip on Lake Seminole and his remains were found in December 2017. Authorities soon ruled his death a homicide.
An indictment alleged that Denise Williams and her ex-husband, Brian Winchester, plotted the murder over a nine-month period. Winchester was sent to prison in a separate case for kidnapping Denise Williams at gunpoint.
