TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Unique wooden containers are being sent out to kids in need.

North Florida Woodturners took over Godby High Tuesday evening to show off their wooden containers for the Beads of Courage program.

Beads of Courage provides children suffering from illnesses with beads every time they reach a milestone in their journey.

The woodturners say they hope these kids can use the wooden containers to hold their beads representing major accomplishments in their health battles.

President of the North Florida Woodturners, Hugh Cowart, said, "It takes you maybe a couple of days to turn one of the bowls but it's a gratifying experience because we know it's going for a good cause."

The Beads of Courage program has been in the works since 2003.
