COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) -- One person has died and another is in serious condition after a collision at Lassie Black Street and US 441 in Columbia County.
The Florida Highway Patrol says around 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, 91-year-old George Alford was traveling east on Lassie Black Street and another vehicle was traveling north on US 441.
Troopers say Alford failed to stop the car at a stop sign prior to entering the intersection at US 441 and, once entering the intersection, was struck by the other vehicle on the right side.
FHP says Alford later died at Shands of Lake Shore. The driver of the second car is in serious condition at Shands UF.
