TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Police Department has identified the pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle Monday night as 74-year-old Teresa A. Karam.

The crash happened in the 400 block of Capital Circle Southeast.

TPD says emergency responders immediately provided medical attention to Karam, who was transported to a local hospital, but she later died from her injuries.

Police have also identified the driver of the Hyundai Elantra that was involved in the crash. WCTV is choosing not to identify the 23-year-old woman at this time, as she has not been charged.

This is the third pedestrian-involved crash in the same area in recent months. A man was injured in a crash off of East Park Avenue in August and a woman was killed in a crash off of Capital Circle NE in October.

Police say the investigation into the crash remains active and investigators are continuing to process evidence collected from the scene. They are urging anyone who may have information about the crash to contact them at (850) 891-4200, or via Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
