CAMILLA, Ga. (WCTV) -- Mitchell County Emergency Management Agency officials say one person is dead after a small plane crash in Mitchell County, Georgia.
Mitchell County EMA officials told WCTV that a single passenger plane crashed Monday night. The pilot was killed in the crash and was the only person on board.
Mitchell County Sheriff W.E. Bozeman says the twin engine plane went down four miles southeast of Camilla around 10:45 p.m. Monday, near Mt. Zion Road.
The name of the pilot, has not been released. The plane belonged to a company out of Colorado, contracted to carry cargo for UPS.
Bozeman says that he believes it was raining hard at the time of the crash.
The FAA is now investigating the scene.
