TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Police Department is continuing its investigation into a shooting that killed one man and injured a woman.

The shooting happened Sunday afternoon at the Greystone Place Apartments on Jackson Bluff Road. Donna Worlds traveled from West Palm Beach to see where her son died, and look for answers.

"I feel terrible. I'm hurt," she said.

Many family members were on the scene Monday, the day after 26-year-old Anthony Bell was shot and killed. Worlds says he was inside his car at the time of the shooting.

"Somebody pulled up and started opening fire and him and the female got shot," she said.

Tire marks can be seen on the grass just inside of the gates of the apartment complex. Worlds says the marks are from Bell's car. The gate appears to be a little bent as well.

Worlds believes Bell was trying to get away when he was shot. Family members say they were told the female passenger was shot in the chest area, but was able to get out of the car and run.

Worlds says Bell's death is a big loss to the family.

She said, "My son was a good loving person. He helped anybody. He helped his family through Christmas. We couldn't have done it without him. It's killing us now that he's gone."

Bell's nephew, Mykeria Gaines, looked up to him.

"That was my only uncle. He was like a father figure to me. He did everything for us. He was always there for me. He motivated me a lot, too," he said.

The family wants justice.

"Why you gotta go take from somebody else, take their life, huh? I hope you hear me. I hope you're feeling me," Worlds said.

Authorities say the woman who was shot is in stable condition in the hospital.

No arrests have been made at this time. Police say they're still investigating and are asking for the public's help. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
