Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash on West Pensacola Street

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in the area of West Pensacola and Cactus Streets.

Emergency responders were called to the scene at 6:42 p.m. Saturday and immediately provided medical attention to the injured pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

The police department has not identified the victim or provided a description of the suspect's vehicle.

The eastbound lanes of West Pensacola Street between Cactus and Dupree Streets were closed for several hours as investigators worked to clear the scene of the crash.

Traffic Homicide Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, but did not speak with an officer on scene or anyone with information about the accident, to please call (850) 891-4200 and ask to speak with the Traffic Homicide Unit. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
