TALLAHASSEE, Fla (WCTV) -- We're still a few months away from prom season, but some local teens are already saying yes to the dress.

On Saturday, the Junior League of Tallahassee and Palmer Munroe Teen Center hosted Operation Prom. The event offers a chance for any teenager to get a prom dress, shoes and accessories, for free.

Teens are allowed to try on the dress and show off what they've found.

"Ladies have chosen dresses and they walk down the red carpet and they're all cheering for each other. So that's what we've really enjoyed watching is the confidence building among the girls and just boosting that they all look great and feel great," said Amanda Wiggins, the co-chair of Operation Prom.

For the past 16 years, the event has provided hundreds of dresses each season, many of which are returned and used again the next year.
