TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Fire Department is investigating an overnight house fire that caused $700,000 in damage.

TFD says crews responded to the scene around 12:32 a.m. Monday in the 4000 block of Rangewood Drive, just off of Centerville Road.

Once on scene, crews found a fully-involved structure fire with flames showing through the roof. Crews quickly attacked the blaze from the exterior, due to the threat of the roof collapsing.

Officials say the residents inside the home when the fire broke out were alerted by the smoke detector. Everyone inside, including the family dog, escaped unharmed.

TFD says the home was deemed a total loss with damages estimated at $700,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

TFD was assisted on scene by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Leon County EMS.
