TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Leon County law enforcement has investigated several recent threats at local schools in the last week, including two at Leon High School and another at The School of Arts and Sciences at the Centre.
Parents are shocked to hear about threats being made at the schools. Some say they're worried about the well being of their children, while others are worried about the behaviors of students and how threats should not be taken lightly.
Many parents say they're not surprised by the behavior of students because of what they're exposed to on social media.
Caroline Summers, who home schools her child, is sickened to think that children are capable of putting their peers in potential danger.
"I think it's horrible and there's been too much of it lately, so it's worrisome to hear," she said. "I think it's absolutely not normal and I think we should take it very seriously, even if they were joking, it's a very sick joke."
The Leon County Sheriff's Office is asking parents and students to come forward if they see anything that could resemble a threat, saying it would much rather see that there's nothing to it than to find out once it's too late.
