TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A man is behind bars in Leon County, accused of threatening another man with a box cutter during a dispute over $10.

The Tallahassee Police Department says on the evening of September 15, the victim was outside vacuuming his vehicle when he was approached by the suspect, 60-year-old Michael Baldwin.

Baldwin reportedly asked if he could vacuum the victim's car for $6 in return. The victim agreed, and after Baldwin had finished vacuuming the car, the victim tried to hand him the $6.

The victim told officers that's when Baldwin began demanding $10 instead. As the two men argued over the payment, Baldwin pulled out a box cutter from one of his pockets and held it near his legs.

The victim told investigators he ran back to his home and Baldwin eventually left the area.

The police department says about three hours later, it received reports of a man cutting another man with a box cutter in the 800 block of Floral Street. The victim told officers he had asked the man, later identified as Baldwin, to leave his property. According to arrest documents, Baldwin refused to leave and brandished a box cutter, slicing the victim down his nose. TPD says the victim required several stitches.

Baldwin was taken into custody on Wednesday. He has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in the Leon County Detention Facility on $10,000 bail.
