GADSDEN CO., Fla. (WCTV) -- A Quincy woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries following an accident involving a Gadsden County Schools bus.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash between a Nissan Altima and a school bus carrying three children around 5:30 p.m. Monday. The crash happened on Bainbridge Highway near Rose Court in Gadsden County.

Gadsden County Superintendent Roger Milton tells WCTV the Altima crashed into the back of the bus.

The driver of the Altima, 55-year-old Cynthia Ann Wade, was transported to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare with serious injuries. Superintendent Milton says Wade was released from the hospital on Tuesday.

The driver of the school bus and three students on board were not injured. Milton says the students had been heading home from a summer program.

FHP says the crash is still under investigation and charges are pending.

Bainbridge Highway was shut down for about 45 minutes as crews worked to clear the accident scene.
