TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- While President Donald Trump was at the United States/Mexico border on Thursday, different organizations rallied across the country, calling for an end to the government shutdown.

Federal union workers in Washington, D.C. held one of the largest in the country, while other rallies were held in Chicago, Minneapolis and Kentucky.

Federal prison employees organized a rally Thursday in the heart of downtown Tallahassee as they continue to work without pay as the shutdown nears record length. The rally kicked off outside of the AFL-CIO building before the group made their way to the state capitol.
