Riley Elementary principal resigns amid misconduct allegations

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Karwynn Paul, the principal of Tallahassee's Riley Elementary School, has resigned amid allegations of professional misconduct with staff.

Leon County Schools released the following statement on Tuesday afternoon:

"Yesterday, Karwynn Paul, former principal at Riley Elementary, submitted his resignation in lieu of termination, effective immediately.

"On January 24, 2018, Mr. Paul was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into alleged inappropriate touching and interaction with female employees. Based on the findings of the investigation, Mr. Paul was notified of the District's intent to terminate his employment.

"Leon County Schools takes these matters very seriously and has high expectations of all employees."

Paul had been placed on administrative leave after the allegations surfaced in January.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Riley Elementary School Principal Karwynn Paul has been placed on administrative leave, pending a review of information related to alleged professional misconduct with staff, Leon County Schools said Wednesday night.

In a statement to WCTV, LCS Superintendent Rocky Hanna said:

“The information related to the allegation against Mr. Paul requires the District to take immediate action. As this is an open investigation we cannot release further details at this time. However, we will communicate our findings and any actions taken at its conclusion."
