SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) -- Authorities are investigating a fatal crash south of Live Oak.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:20 p.m. on Thursday on US Hwy 129 at near 108th Trail in Suwannee County.

FHP reports that a Ford pickup truck was traveling north on US Hwy 129 and a GMC pickup truck was traveling south. The crash report states that the Ford crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with the GMC.

The FHP report states that the Ford became engulfed in flames with the driver trapped inside. The fire was extinguished but the driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver has not yet been identified.

The driver of the GMC, 45-year-old Brian Gulliford, of Live Oak, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Suwannee County Fire Rescue reports that US Hwy 129 was shut down for several hours Thursday as crews investigated the crash.
