SCSO seeking information in 42-year-old missing persons case

LIVE OAK, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Suwannee County Sheriff's Office is working to develop new leads in the case of a woman who disappeared more than 42 years ago.

20-year-old Debora Howard disappeared on September 24, 1976. Investigators say she had gone to a bar in Live Oak with her boyfriend, George "Alan" McCraney, and some friends.

Debora had brown hair and green eyes, and wore glasses at the time of her disappearance.

She would be 62 years old. Authorities say she is about 5'3" tall and may weigh about 120 pounds.

The Florida Sheriffs Association has partnered with SCSO and Crime Stoppers of Suwannee County to offer a reward of $5,000 for information on Howard's disappearance. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 for tipsters.
