Seattle Mariners select Cal Raleigh in MLB Draft

NEW YORK, N.Y. (WCTV) -- The first Florida State Seminole is off the board in the 2018 MLB Draft, as the Seattle Mariners drafted FSU catcher Cal Raleigh with the 90th overall pick.
The North Carolinian hit a career-best .335 at the plate this year for FSU and posted career highs in home runs (13) and RBI (52) for the Seminoles in 2018.
Raleigh has never been selected in the draft previously, and spent the summer of 2016 in the Cape Cod League with the Harwich Mariners, hitting. 204 in 27 games with a home run and nine RBI in the most prestigious summer league in the country.
