PERRY, Fla. (WCTV) -- The driver of a semi truck was killed after his vehicle overturned and caught fire Monday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6:20 p.m. on US-221 just south of Boyd Road in Taylor County.

The crash report states that 36-year-old Bailey Heard of Pavo, Georgia, was driving south on US-221 when he traveled off of the roadway into the emergency lane and struck a guardrail. FHP says the semi truck overturned onto the driver's side before catching fire.
