TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Senior residents at the Tapestry Senior Living Facility took a unique excursion to one of Tallahassee's top breweries.
Proof Brewing Company hosted the group of residents Friday and gave them a private tour and tasting.
The excursion was all part of an effort to "bridge the gap" between generations and keep the seniors up-to-date on new trends within the community.
"We really just want to always show them what is going on and keep them up with the times," said Nina Davis from Tapestry. "We thought this craft beer scene would be the perfect example of new meets old and give them something to talk to their kids or grandkids about."
The group started with a private tour of the grounds, then they tasted several of the brewery's beers.
"It's just so much fun to see them all talking and interacting and trying something new," Davis said. "It helps them stay with it so if they see something about breweries or craft beer on the news they can say 'Oh I know what that is!'"
The trip was one of the weekly excursions offered to residents. Representatives from Proof say they would gladly welcome them back.
