TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Multiple officers responded to a shots-fired call Thursday evening and were investigating an abduction, according to Tallahassee Police.
The call came in at 5:19 p.m. in the 500 block of McKeithen Street. Officers discovered the suspect, 34-year old Trec Berry, had forced his way into the victim’s home, firing several shots at them.
They said Berry then forced the victim into a red truck and drove away. A short time later, officers located Berry’s truck, backed into the woodline, at Innovation Park near Paul Dirac Drive.
He was later observed walking out of the woodline while holding the victim against her will, according to police.
Police said Berry refused to release the victim. After a brief standoff, Berry released the victim and was taken into custody.
The victim did not have any gunshot wounds, according to TPD. Berry was taken into custody to TPD headquarters for questioning with charges pending.
