LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) -- Two people have been arrested after a violent crime spree that spanned through three counties.

Leon County deputies responded to an armed burglary call at the Dollar General off Blountstown Highway around 10 a.m. Saturday.

Reports say 31-year-old Carlester Fryson walked into the Dollar General through the front door and made his way to the back to the manager's office. He brandished a semi-auto handgun and forced the manager to exit her office to the front customer service area.

Once there, deputies say Fryson hit the manager twice with the handgun. Fryson also hit a second clerk with the handgun twice.

Just after hitting the second clerk the second time, Fryson held the gun to the right side of the clerk's face and fired a round. Deputies say the clerk and manager were not injured.

Fryson then demanded cash and after getting it, fled the store through the front door. 18-year-old Brittany Nutter was waiting in a getaway truck, and they both fled on Highway 20.

Minutes later, deputies say, the suspects carjacked a woman off Bloxham Cutoff. They say Fryson approached the woman's car with his firearm and forced her out of her vehicle, and violently struck her several times with the firearm in the head and face.

She was transported to TMH with non-life threatening injuries.

Fryson and Nutter left the scene in two separate vehicles and continued traveling on Highway 20.

Fryson was speeding through Liberty County, where he crashed into the back of another car. According to deputies, Nutter was following behind Fryson when the crash happened. She pulled Fryson out of the crashed car, and kept driving.

The suspects continued to Calhoun County, where deputies say Nutter approached a victim asking to use his phone at which point Fryson stole the phone, and they continued driving on Highway 20.

Shortly thereafter, the suspects were captured in Calhoun County on Hwy 20, 4 miles east of the Bay County Line, by an FHP Trooper and a Calhoun County deputy.

Fryson is being charged with armed robbery with discharge of a firearm, armed carjacking, five counts of aggravated battery and several other charges.

Nutter is being charged with armed robbery with discharge of a firearm, armed carjacking and five counts of aggravated battery.

Both are currently being held in the Calhoun County Jail.

They face charges in Calhoun and Liberty counties.

Detectives are continuing to investigate leads that Fryson and Nutter may have committed other crimes, possibly in the area of Mission Road and/or Appleyard Drive.
