TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The hospital's trauma center met with 8th graders from Montford Middle School Tuesday.

TMH taught students about the dangers of distracted driving, through their program “Pathways of Prevention.”

Students participated in interactive activities like walking with fatal vision goggles.

The staff said they hope this program encourages better decision making on the road ways.

“This is a time to catch them early before they get out into the summer and enter high school area. How to pick those good behaviors to prevent injuries before it happens because trauma is the only preventable disease,” said Jo Roland, TMH Trauma Program Manager.”

This is the 3rd year of the program.
