TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- An arrest has been made in a shooting near the area of Wallis and Calhoun streets earlier this month.
Tallahassee Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit has identified 24-year-old Tamarick Barns as the suspected shooter.
The March 1 shooting sent one person to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Police say the victim's injuries were non-life threatening.
Weeks later, on March 17, officers were investigating a hit-and-run crash near Eisenhower Street and Villamore Avenue where two people had abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot.
After a perimeter was set up, one of the suspects, Barns, was detained near Villamore and Dale Street and brought in for questioning. Police then connected him to the shooting Wallis Street shooting.
Barns was booked into the Leon County Detention Facility on charges of armed robbery and attempted murder.
