TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Two sisters in Tallahassee are launching a movement of hope and happiness and they're doing it one rock at a time.

Sisters Melanie Davis and Bonnie York handed over a painted rock to members of the Florida Highway Patrol, with an inspirational note on the back. It was to thank them for their service.

It's a part of a community project started by the two sisters called 'Tallahassee Rocks.' They started the group in February.

They hand out and even hide these inspirational rocks around town, hoping to brighten someone’s day.

They also encourage others to join in by painting rocks on their own, leaving them around town for someone to find.

“There’s also a bunch of positive in Law Enforcement and EMS. So we want to recognize them for their commitment to keeping our families safe," said York and Davis.
