TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- It's that time of year where the sun is shining and everyone in Tallahassee celebrates our city at the annual Springtime Tallahassee festival and parade.

Every year, Tallahassee residents get to spend their day having fun, as they interact with fellow neighbors and businesses in the area. It's the one day a year where the community comes together to celebrate all things Tallahassee.

Those like Linda Bernard have been looking forward to the event all year, "We get up real early in the morning, at 7 o'clock and we get here early so we can get a front row seat. Everyone is suddenly here. Hundreds of hundreds of people, and you should be here, too."

Those that showed up, like Carmen Vilardo, say they enjoy the family-friendly environment, "It's just a family atmosphere, getting the kids out, this beautiful weather, the community is out here, so it's just fantastic."

For individuals like Anna Davis, it's a tradition, "Well I was born and raised here in Tallahassee and this is something we've always done is coming out here, and I just absolutely love it. They just get so excited seeing everyone out here and it's just a great community feeling."

The community is thankful that the city holds events like these for its residents.

Carina Richarson, who traveled all the way from Maryland, would not have missed the festivities for the world, "Everyone is so kind, it's so amazing and just the energy here. Tallahassee is such a special place, you just want to come back and experience it."

"We just love the family-friendly atmosphere, the kids love the parade, and it's just a great day to come out and enjoy Tallahassee," mentions teacher Kelsey Nole.

No matter what the reason for being at the Springtime Festival and Parade, all agree that Tallahassee is the place to be.

Richardson expresses, "I don't think it ever gets old."

Her sister, Aida, laughs, "Tallahassee is just so fun."

Although the fun festivities only last a day, those in attendance are looking forward to next year.
