TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A house fire in Tallahassee Thursday night has displaced five people from their home.

The Tallahassee Fire Department says the fire broke out around 7:19 p.m. at a home in the 7700 block of Bass Ridge Trail.

According to TFD, the fire is believed to have been caused by two vent fans located under the home in a crawl space.

Two adults and three teenagers were able to escape the home without serious injury, and crews rescued one cat from the residence. TFD says the Red Cross is assisting the family.

Damage to the home is estimated to be $80,000.

Leon County EMS and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office also assisted fire crews at the scene.
