FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an ambulance crash.

Troopers say the Franklin County ambulance went off of Sopchoppy Highway east of Sopchoppy around five Friday morning and hit a tree.

Investigators believe the driver had a medical emergency.

The ambulance was transporting a patient at the time.

FHP says Wakulla County EMS responded to the scene.

The driver, another EMS worker in the ambulance and the patient were taken to a Tallahassee hospital.
