Toronto Blue Jays select Cobi Johnson in MLB Draft

NEW YORK, N.Y. (WCTV) -- The Toronto Blue Jays have selected FSU pitcher Cobi Johnson in the 30th round of the 2018 MLB Draft.

Johnson appeared in 14 games for FSU in 2018 and finished the year with a 0-1 record with a 3.54 ERA in 20.0 innings of work.

In three years with the Noles, Johnson has logged a 3-3 record with a 5.49 ERA in 40 games, 31 of which have been relief efforts. He also swung the bat a bit in 2018, hitting .250 with a home run and seven RBI in six games.

Johnson is the seventh FSU draftee overall this year, along with Cal Raleigh, Cole Sands, Andrew Karp, Jackson Lueck, Tyler Holton and Rhett Aplin.
