TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- One of several downed trees in our area landed on a house in Tallahassee.

It's located on North Mission Road just a few blocks down from Tharpe Street.

Neighbors say the tree crashed onto the home around 10 a.m.

The sound caught the attention of those nearby. Darrell Arnold heard it.
He says he thought it was a transformer blowing out.

Arnold says while the oak tree is old... he's still kind of surprised it was able to tumble. He said, "It didn't seem that bad. A little wind, rain. It was a little worse than it is now, but anyway. It went the other way. I hate to be selfish, but I thank God that it went that way instead of this way."

The tree crushed a portion of the fence separating the two yards.
It broke in pieces on top of the roof, where the majority of it is visible from the front of the house.

No one was home at the time.
