TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Utilities crews trickled into the capital city Tuesday afternoon.
Teams from public power utilities across Florida, Tennessee and Louisiana arrived in Tallahassee ahead of Hurricane Michael. One 20-person crew from Orlando brought a fleet of 17 rigs and said they are just happy to help.
"We're excited to get out here and help people out. Hopefully, it's not too bad, but if it is, you know, we're here to help as long as they need us," Mitchell Coakley said.
Coakley works for the Orlando Utilities Commission alongside his twin brother Matthew.
Hundreds of crews, from places like Indiana, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri and Texas are also planning to make it to the region by Thursday.
