Valdosta Police searching for shooting suspect

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Valdosta Police Department is searching for a man wanted in connection to a shooting on Friday that left one person injured.

On December 2, around 9:40 p.m., VPD responded to a shooting incident in the parking lot of the Park East Apartments, located at 1635 E Park Avenue.

At the scene, officers found the victim, 25-year-old Fredirick Keeley, suffering from several gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded to the scene and took Keeley to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Crime scene technicians from the Valdosta-Lowndes Regional Crime Lab processed the scene for evidence and detectives with the Valdosta Bureau of Investigation were also called in to assist in the investigation.

Detectives interviewed witnesses and family members at the scene and the victim was also able to answer questions.

Through the investigation, police have identified the shooting suspect as 22-year-old Antwain Devonta Williams.

Warrants have been signed for Williams' arrest for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Police say the shooting victim was last listed in good condition and is expected to be released from the hospital soon.
