A dramatic hit-and-run crash was caught on video Thursday in Sarasota and the person who caused it took off.
A hotel security camera catches a driver trying to make a left turn into a gas station on U.S. 4, turning right into the path of another vehicle and causing that car to flip at least four times.
"People were hollering call 911 and it was just a bit of chaos at first," said hotel guest Kathy Brown.
The crash happened around 8 a.m Thursday in Sarasota, near a Racetrack in the Lantern Inn and Suites with hotel guests witnessing it.
The Audi with a 19-year-old inside rolls over repeatedly.
Donald Fuchs runs out of his hotel room and the car lands on its roof after hitting a concrete wall surrounding the pool.
"Bad. I didn't know what to do. I mean until somebody come with the ambulance join me and then we had to wait on, because he was bruised up pretty bad," Fuchs said.
State troopers say a driver in a Kia Sedona who hit the 19-year-old did not stop.
A security camera caught that too.
The driver hits the Audi and waits about five seconds before taking off on U.S. 41.
The 19-year-old remains in a hospital with critical injuries.
"It's unforgivable. No matter what even if there's nothing you do you need to stop and see if you can do something," Brown said.
The van is being described as a 2003 Kia Sedona with damage to the right-front.
