TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- We're learning more about execution in the sunshine state.
Florida carried out just one execution in 2016.
But a decision just before christmas could open the door to more in 2017.
We're learning the state has run short of the drug it's been using and now has a new lethal cocktail that could result in new legal challenges.
We have a reporter working on this story and will give more details tonight.
With the start of a new year, there's a few new laws going into effect in Florida.
One of the "new year" laws prohibits the sale of cough medicines that contain synthetically produced Dextromethorphan to people under 18 years old.
It also requires identification from those presumed to be under 25.
So if you're feeling under the weather, make sure you meet these new requirements in order to purchase the medicine you need.
