Woman seriously injured after crashing into barn

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- An elderly woman was seriously injured when her car collided with a livestock fence and a barn in Gadsden County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 27, north of McNair Road.
The crash report states that a driver in a Chrysler PT Cruiser was traveling north on US-27 when she drove off of the roadway to the right. She re-entered the roadway and began rotating before driving off the road a second time.
The car traveled down an embankment and overturned, colliding with a livestock fence and a barn before coming to rest on its side.
72-year-old Iris McCauley of Havana was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
