SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) -- A crash in Suwannee County on Christmas Eve sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
The crash happened at 11 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of US Highway 27 and County Road 49.
The crash report states that a driver in a Lincoln MKS was traveling southbound on CR 49 as a driver in a Toyota Prius was traveling eastbound on US Hwy 27, both approaching the intersection.
Troopers say the driver in the Lincoln did not stop at the right light and failed to yield the right of way to the Toyota. The Lincoln then struck the right front side of the Toyota.
The Lincoln traveled off of the roadway and came to a rest at the wood line.
The driver of the Lincoln, 58-year-old Wanda Allman, of Branford, was taken to Shands UF Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
Troopers say both drivers were wearing seat belts.
FHP says charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
