Victim's Daughter Angry Over Cold Case Murder
All that's left are memories. Memories of a kind and generous mother who got caught up in the wrong crowd, and lost her life.
" I miss hearing my momma sing. And like little things, when I would get out of the shower she would still brush my hair and she can't do that anymore," said Stacy Harris, the victim's daughter.
In January, hunters stumbled upon the body of Marilyn Harris. She had been murdered and left to rot in the woods of Greenville off Pettis Springs Road.
Deputies say multiple leads have developed but no one has been taken into custody. Investigators say although they have a person of interest, they haven't been able to collect enough evidence to file charges. But Stacy Harris says that's not good enough and she knows who killed her mother.
"I said how do you sleep, and he said I sleep just fine. He looked me dead in the eyes and didn't even tell me he was sorry bout my momma, just told me he sleeps fine," said Harris.
Harris says she has lost faith in the justice system and just hopes someone with more information will come forward. So that then, the man who sleeps so well at night will do so behind bars.
