Bananas Foster with Grilled Pound Cake


Serves 4

4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1 orange, zested and juiced
4 bananas, cut into quarters
1/4 cup banana liqueur
1/2 cup rum
1 pound cake, sliced into 8 pieces


Melt butter in large pan over medium heat. Add brown sugar, spices, and orange juice; stir until dissolved. Add bananas; cook 1–2 minutes per side. Remove pan from heat; add banana liqueur and rum. Return pan to heat; carefully ignite rum with stick lighter. Cook until alcohol is burned off and flames extinguish.
